Trilogy Repertory Board of Directors
The following tongue-in-cheek bios were written by Hank Barre - Trilogy Treasurer - as part of the entertainment phase of Trilogy's Annual Picnic in September.
Jaye Barre

Known locally as Jaye Barre's husband's wife, she is the director I prefer to sleep with to get parts. Over twenty years Jaye has done every job there is in Trilogy, most of them simultaneously. I had to take an oath many years ago that I would not make fun of my wife in public so I can say nothing else. I do, however, have a few quotes from other people who don't have the same restrictions as I do. A crew member at a recent strike said "She was there supervising loading the van - I drove to the trailers unlocked them and she was inside telling us where to put the stuff! How does she do that? It's spooky. I now look under the doors in the Men's room just to make sure she isn't there." Someone called my home recently and said "I just saw Jaye at a meeting -is she there too- I need to talk to her." Past and present set builders have offered me money to keep her awake at night so she doesn't come to rehearsal and say "I had a dream last night" because that means they have to build something that moves, flies or has to support 63 people tap dancing. To most people she is Trilogy- Jaye Barre!

Chris Winans

Our next board member for recognition is Chris Winans. Some of you have seen Chris Winans on stage, many of you have seen him out in front of the stage on book, we have seen him over the stage hanging lights and he is always backstage being a pain about entrances and lines and offering free back rubs to all women under 80 and a select few over. Chris has also been with us since the very early days. Many people do not know that Chris traditionally wears his characteristic black hat because he actually has horns on his head. Hardworking as ever, please recognize our own picnic and special events organizer, Chris Winans.

Lorrie Lane

Someone asked me earlier "Where is Lorrie Lane? I told them to take a right out of the park and a left on Spring Valley Road and it was somewhere on your left. But seriously, Lorrie could not be here today but certainly deserves to be recognized for all the work she has done and even more importantly all the work she gets other people to do. As a long time producer, she doesn't get enough credit for rounding up unsuspecting people and putting them to hard labor for little or no money.

Bev Webb

Another Member of our Board who works behind the scenes is Bev Webb. Her father must have been a shoemaker's elf because many times we have left a rehearsal with no backdrop, no props, no set pieces and come back the next day and all of this has mysteriously appeared. As a teacher she is used to working with immature children, so theater people are only slightly more of a challenge. Just look helpless or confused and you can probably get Bev to do the job you are supposed to be doing.

Hugh Wallace

Let me tell you about Hugh Wallace who came to Trilogy as an innocent youth about 20 years ago. Hillary Clinton says it takes a village to raise a child- in Hugh's case it took a group of village idiots called Trilogy. The Wallace family has always been part of Trilogy and they were only too happy to give us Hugh to raise, as his brothers had totally worn them out at that point. We kept him in a cardboard box in the laundry room until he was old enough to build sets. Figuring we had long term free labor at the cost of some beer and pizza, he imagined that he was an actor. After humoring him in that illusion for several years, he decided he was a director so in the Trilogy tradition we gave him a shot at that and darned if he didn't do that just as well. So we want you to meet and thank Mr. Hugh Wallace.

Doug Doyen

I am sure that long time Trilogy fans will recall our next Board member
for his moving roles as- the character with no name, the guy on the left, and the immortal man with one line. But as great as his accomplishments are on stage, Doug Doyen has contributed something to Trilogy that no one else could ever provide - his talented children. Without him and an incredible amount of courage on his wife's part many of you would never have gotten to enjoy the kids performances. Oh, he has also done some occasional work on mailings, produced a show and generally hung around the board for several years for the odd free meal. When he comes up if he speaks for more than 20 or 30 minutes please feel free to consider it an intermission. Ladies and Gentlemen our own, Doug Doyen.

Bob Ottmann

Whenever something needs to be built, repaired or ripped apart we can always count on this next board member to show up. With his tools in hand we have always been able to count on Bob Ottmann to nail things down and screw things up. Rarely seen on stage, he is frequently seen backstage trying to hold up whatever he has built from behind. Actually Bob is a willing and hardworking craftsman and we have no idea why he is so damned agreeable on top of it. He is also responsible for establishing and running our website which has over four "hits" in the past year. Please give a hand for Bob "The Hammer" Ottmann.

Fred Mills-Winkler

I have worked alongside this next man for a few years now and I still have no idea what Fred Mills-Winkler is saying most of the time. Over the years Trilogy has had a number of Brits as part of the group. Some of you may remember Ray and June Cook or even further back Roger Hulme. None of us could understand them either- you would think when they came to this country they would learn to speak English. Many of you do not know that in addition to doing a great job on our sound production Fred also sings country music. We have, as yet, been unable to identify what country it is from but it amuses him. As a side note, now that he has married an American citizen we are abandoning all efforts to have him deported. Mr. Fred Mills-Winkler!

Nikki Bogardus

Despite the insults to their British heritage, Trilogy seems to find and benefit from the efforts of the English. The latest addition is fellow Brit, Nikki Bogardus, who has just been elected to the Board. She is a choreographer and if she can get some of these Trilogy folks to move both of their left feet in rhythm then she is most welcome. She is also devoting her energy to get our communications via mail and e mail in order so we can keep everyone aware of our activities. If you do not get our notices in the future please blame it on Nikki. Nikki is also our new Secretary. Let us welcome our newest Board member, Nikki Bogardus.

Hank Barre

Now finally we recognize a man who casts a big shadow not only in Trilogy but whenever the sun is shining. He has served Trilogy in many capacities over the last 20 years and the Board intends to keep giving him assignments until we find something he can do well. Always ready with a kind word and gentle encouragement (pause) Who wrote this nonsense? Anyway, here again is our Treasurer and own resident smartaleck - Hank Barre.
